In the past year, there have been significant technological advancements, including the development of an app called "Hand Talk." This app has garnered attention for its ability to facilitate communication between deaf individuals and others using a simple interface. Users can input their messages, which are then translated into sign language, such as American Sign Language or Brazilian sign language. This translation is made possible through artificial intelligence (AI). With approximately 13% of people in the US experiencing hearing disabilities, the accessibility provided by "Hand Talk" is invaluable. Moreover, its utility extends beyond the deaf community, benefitting anyone who may encounter communication barriers. By promoting inclusivity, "Hand Talk" demonstrates how technology can positively impact society by ensuring that everyone, regardless of their challenges, can participate fully.
