There are multiple pros and cons of artificial intelligence in the art industry. AI image creation is a new and emerging field and there is a lot to learn about it. In this essay, I go over multiple advantages and disadvantages as well as specific examples.

First, there are quite a few advantages of AI entering the art world. The first obvious one is the ease of making it. It takes less than a minute to create a completely original piece of art by just typing a few sentences. This also makes it a lot easier for anyone interested in the art field to bring their ideas to life quickly. Using Artificial Intelligence's vast field of images and data, these photos that it can create can be more advanced than someone who has been illustrating for years. Not only is it easy to create but it is also quite straightforward to market the art you make. Artificial Intelligence networks have some of the most advanced databases which can specifically target people who have specific interests in your product. So far it has been mainly used in the creation of NFT (Non Fungible Tokens). The selling and making of NFT is a very profitable business and made almost 20 billion in 2020. Now you understand a few positives of being AI to the art industry here are a few issues as well.

Next, a few specific drawbacks in bringing AI to the art field are the copyright issues, and replacing human artists altogether. I will go more into detail about these concerns. When it comes to the copyright problem, there are multiple laws to change concerning the AI art industry. One example of this is when a human artist makes an illustration, and an AI model generates an almost identical image. This is because an AI model cannot make a completely original image, as it takes multiple images/ideas from all online artists. There are multiple lawsuits against this already. Next, a lot of artists in this generation have a rising fear of having their jobs replaced by AI. This boils down to one simple question. Why spend multiple hours when you can just ask an AI model to do it in a matter of seconds? A lot of artists argue that AI will not have the same amount of passion or emotion in the paintings. This could result in multiple troubles with the law and could result in some major setbacks in the future development of AI.

All in all, the art industry could be completely revolutionized by artificial intelligence and could result in massive ripples in the whole world.
