What if somebody could steal your voice and make you say things that you werent? Well tight now this is happening throughout the digital world and can be potentially harmful in multiple aspects. This is made possible by an AI feature called “Voice Cloning.” It is quite self explanatory, and in simple terms it allows anybody to use your voice and person to make you say or do things in a video or clip. In some ways it could be potentially good as it lets people get work done faster, such as recording videos or making speeches. But in this situation the dangers immensely outweigh the positives. To start off an obvious misuse of this in the political area. If we can completely steal a political candidate's voice and make them say things that endorse the other party, or make them seem unreputable it could completely wreck their career. With the way things spread globally with social media this is a dangerous tool. Next, if somebody close to you calls and asks to borrow some money for medical treatment your instant response would be yes. But what if they were never in trouble and it wasn't even them in the first place. Let me explain. We know that this “Voice Cloning” can be used to take anybody's voice. So if a hacker takes someone you know, who knows what harm they could inflict. This is called “phishing” and this tool allows these scammers to put everyone in harm's way. All in all I think that this tool should be legally regulated and should be punished if caught being exploited.
